Florence Nightingale: The lady with the lamp

We have been learning about Florence Nightingale who lived a long time ago. She went to Sutari during the Crimean war to help the injured soldiers. She was called the lady of the lamp because she would walk around with her lamp as late as 2 am to check on the soldiers. We made our own lamps after describing the differences between her lamp and the lamps we have at home.

Capacity

Today we learnt about capacity. We measured the fluid in different sized measuring cylinders. It was really fun and we got messy!

Peter's visit to Year 2

Year 2 welcomed Peter from St Leonard's Church into our class to learn more about his role.  We learnt about what Peter's job involved and how much he enjoyed weddings, christenings and coming into schools to meet children!

We are going to visit Peter at St. Leonard's Church on Wednesday 24th June.
