Easter Egg Rolling Competition

Happy Easter
Year Two have had a lovely last week of term with many exciting activities. We all thoroughly enjoyed our Art Day on Wednesday. Many budding artists.
We finished off the day with decorating hard boiled eggs and having a competition to see whose egg could roll the furthest down the slope. Well done Baylie!

Lifecycle of a Frog Dance

Year 2s 'Life Cycle of a Frog' Dance

Children performed to a classical piece of music and started off by huddling together like frogspawn. When the music changed, children gradually broke away from their spawn and independently moved around the room. The children demonstrated moves to resemble tadpoles growing and eventually becoming frogs. To complete their dance, on the final music change, the children hopped back to their original groups. A beautiful performance Year 2!                                                   Mrs Lockwood

Will temperature affect how our bean seeds will grow?

Year Two know that plants need light and water to grow well. We have planned an investigation into how temperature affects growth. Our class prediction is, 'We predict the seeds by the heater will grow best because flowers grow in the Spring and Summer time.'
Week Two has seen that the seeds by the heater and window sill have germinated and we can see their roots

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!
Year 2 have had a very busy and exciting end of term. This week the children have enjoyed making peppermint creams and their Christmas cards.
The children were very excited when Father Christmas visited Wednesday morning, followed by our school Christmas dinner and then playing many of the 'good old' favourite traditional games at our party. It was lovely to then see so many of the children back at school in the evening for the school disco!
I have certainly enjoyed my first term at Sandridge and have been made to feel very welcome.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Nativity

Well done Year Two for a wonderful production of, 'A Midwife Crisis' and thank you to parents for helping the children to learn their lines and for providing the costumes. The children spoke clearly and sang beautifully but most importantly, they all had great fun!

Fun at the Forest

Class Two enjoyed an afternoon at Heartwood Forest as our marble treat.

The children enjoyed building shelters and a game of 'Hide and Seek'.

The children were able to identify the different habitats and the animals that they would find there.

We finished off the afternoon running through the long grass before we walked back to school.
