Fun Run

Year 2 were amazing this morning and raised a lot of money for charity.  All the children made me extremely proud as they kept on running and running and running.  Well done Year 2!

Special meal

Year 2 had a special meal together and thought about an important meal we had in our personal lives. We had a range of important meals including birthday, Christmas, leaving a country, christening and wedding.  Jamal was able to link the Last Supper at Easter to a special meal that he celebrates during Eid.

Easter!

Year 2 have had some fantastic RE lessons.  Em came to visit us and we learnt why Holy Week is so important for most Christians.  We learnt some actions to help us remember the different events in Holy Week.  To make it easier, we associated each event with the letter P(except for Easter Sunday).

Palm Sunday
Pigeon Day
Perfume
Passover
Painful Day
Prayer Day

Easter Sunday!

Battleships!

To support our learning on co-ordinates, we played a game of 'Battleships'. We had a lot of fun with our games. I've attached a link with a template of the game.  Please print them off and play them with your family or friends!

Measuring

Year 2 had a lot of fun measuring objects in class and around the school with a metre stick. The challenge was to find an object that was exactly 1 metre (100cm). Tiffany and her partner managed to find this object in our class. It was the round table. Well done!
Children evaluated the work and what they had learnt in today's lesson.

PE - Life cycle of a Frog

Year 2 performed their dance based on the life cycle of a frog to Year 1 and Year 6.  Miss Moore was very impressed that we have learnt the different stages of a frogs life in our PE lesson as well as the different levels (high, medium and low), speed (fast and slow) and direction (straight and zig zag).

We had a lot of fun with our dance.  Here are some photos of the dance. You can ask your child what stage of the frogs life the photo is showing.
