Ever wondered what it is like creating cars at a Ford, Nissan or Vauxhall. We've been very busy this week making our moving vehicles!

Shake, rattle and roll

We had a lot of fun making our shakers! Today we had even more fun using the shakers in Music with Mrs Kelly. 

Design and technology!

Today's lesson was very, very hard!

We had to gold the Techno-card into shape to make the frame of our vehicle.  Then, we placed the dowel rod through the card as this would act as the axle. Lastly, we had to put the wheels in place but we needed to use sellotape to make sure that the wheels would not fall off.   

Eventually, with team work and lots of noise, we managed to complete them.  Next week, we will complete the rest of the vehicle.....phew!

Place value

Year 2 have been looking at place value in Maths. We have been using the Dienes, Numicon and cubes to make different numbers.  Can you work out what numbers the children  have made from the supporting equipment?

Dictionary!

Year 2 have been learning how to use a dictionary. The first game we played was to find words beginning with chosen letters.  Then, the children had to find a word beginning with that letter and ask their partner to find that word.

As they developed their skills, they progressed to asking their partner to find a word in the dictionary. Well done Year 2!
